Kurikaesu
Repeatedly reach the goal with fewer and fewer platforms. How many times can you make it?
Kurikaesu is a puzzle platformer about dissolving platforms. Each level must be beaten several times, but on every successive clear the platforms you've broken don't come back. Be efficient and precise for the highest scores!
Every level features two medals: one for clearing the level enough times, and one for getting every cookie. Can you get them all?
Features four levels and all-original music and art. Made by Team Trouble for the GMTK Game Jam 2025 with the theme "loop".
Post-jam update! We've released version 1.1 of Kurikaesu with several fixes and improvements. See below for the changelog.
Changelog
- Controller support has been added
- Added Assist Mode to the settings menu. Assist Mode reduces the game speed by 50%.
- Dive Jump height has been slightly increased. This fixes the impossible cookie on level 2 and makes some tight jumps a little more lenient.
- Tutorials have been changed to signposts so you can read them more easily
- An end screen has been added
- Added a level select screen on the main menu
- Added a sound effect for breaking clouds
- Added a variation of the jump sound effect for getting a successful dive jump
- Fixed: the bell could spawn twice in one level after resetting
- Fixed: collecting balloons would allow you to double jump infinitely in some circumstances
- Fixed: Music stops playing or resets state unexpectedly in some circumstances
- Fixed: dive jumping window was too strict when releasing the slide button before landing

Controls
- WD, Arrow Keys, left stick, or D-Pad to move.
- Space, the Up arrow key, or the right or bottom face button to jump. Hold the button to jump higher.
- Shift or LB (while on ground) to slide.
- Shift or LB (while in air) to dive.
- R or RB to respawn in the current loop.
- Hold T or RT to reset the current level to its original state (resets clears and cookies as well).
- Jump while sliding to jump further and a little higher.
- Dive in the air, then jump right when landing to jump even higher.You'll hear a special jump sound effect if you got it!
- Collecting a balloon lets you double jump once!
Tip: hold T to fully reset a level (including your clears and cookies!!) if you get stuck.

Really nice art style and music choice. Also liked the interpretation of the theme. Clever level design, Could be a very though precision-puzzle-platformer with some expansion. Good job!!!
